Meet the Artist
Bombshell Artillery is the brainchild of Toronto-based artist Kristi C. Holtam. Conceived in 1999, Bombshell Artillery strives to create a collection of glamorous art and accessories to complement and express the Bombshell within us all, while reinforcing the concept that anyone can be a pin-up.
Kristiís love of fine art has been a lifelong pursuit. Primarily self-taught, she was fascinated by the dynamics and drama of combining realism with a stylized interpretation of the human form. She began honing her creative edge and found her niche while studying at the prestigious Ontario College of Art and Design. Kristi went on to round out her artistic repertoire with Jewellery Studies at George Brown College.
Bombshell Artilleryís main objective is to recapture and recreate the classic artistic styling of the 1940s and 50s with a modern twist. Exuding glamour with a tongue-in-cheek approach, Bombshell Artillery mimics the essence of the pin-up era - but always with a certain anachronism distinctive of Kristiís signature modern style and traditional technique.
Focusing on the natural beauty of women, the Artillery vies to capture the essence of femininity, and allows freedom to express an inner mystique and sensuality. By incorporating vintage elements, as well as the personal nuances of every subject, Kristi strives to infuse the personality and individuality of each Bombshell into her unique rendered portraits and illustrations.
